2nd BS degree in CS or MSCS from Non CS Undergraduate BS Degree

Hi,
I would like to hear your opinion on whether to get a 2nd BS degree in CS or fulfill prerequisites and go for MSCS from a Psychological and Brain Sciences undergraduate degree. I am from California; I am a rising senior and realizing it’s too late to switch major at my current college. I’d appreciate any feedback on this.
Thanks,
AT

A second Bachelor’s is rarely worth it. Won’t you have exhausted your aid after you finish?

The is a huge range of computational studies masters programs out there if you are interested applied data science/ data analytics/ big data type programs and you should start looking at their websites regarding their prerequisites. You might just need to take a course or two - maybe Python or R- to prepare if you are not going for straight CS.

Can you take at least the frosh/soph level CS major courses before you graduate? Meaning the courses that cover the following topics:

  • Programming and data structures.
  • Computer systems and machine structures.
  • Discrete math.

If you want to go into more data science, consider probability and statistics courses more advanced than the typical introductory level course that is roughly similar to AP statistics.
