2nd child may attend...any hope for reduced rate

Hi There
My daughter is a very happy freshman at Iowa State. Now her brother who is actually a year older is thinking about attending. He has 2 years of community college under his belt and a 7 month stint in the Disney college internship in Orlando.

His grades are not stellar...3.0 in all college work and his HS GPA is about a 2.7. ACT score is a 30. Yah he is an underachiever. His 7 months at Disney really seem to have straightened him out and he is more focused and driven than I have ever seen him. He was able to work with the Imagineers at Disney and has found his passion.

He will be going into Mechanical Engineering.

Is there any type of discount offered if you have two kids attending Iowa State? I don't think he will qualify for any merit aid with is grades.

Thoughts?

I attend ISU and I know my mom is really pushing my younger brother to come here because there is a sibling discount. I do not know how much it is worth, and I think it depends on if your in-state or out of state.

I would call the financial aid office (Look up Beardschear Hall, or something spelled like that) and ask them because they will give you a definite answer.
