So I decided to major in film with a second major, ideally one that focuses on language and can offer lots of travel opportunities. I really love the idea of linguistics and international studies, but I was wondering if there any other majors that fit nicely with film, and if linguistics or international relations fit more closely (it’s a pretty big gap between the 2 majors, though, I know). But I just want two majors that complement each other, especially with my desire to go into the industry and travel/learn how language works. And do any of you guys know really good schools to achieve all this? I’m also kind of multi interested so med school could be an option and I want to know if linguistics orinternational relations won’t be looked down upon during the application process. Thanks guys
Don’t worry about picking something that “fits nicely.” Anything can “fit nicely” depending on what you want to do with it - maybe you are interested in the political impact of films (political science) or making historical documentaries (history) or in making short films to explains science concepts to high schoolers (physics or chemistry).
Neither linguistics nor international relations fits “better” with film; linguistics is probably closer discipline-wise, but that doesn’t matter. Pick what YOU’RE interested in.
