Since many of us are going to be going off to college soon, I have been wondering how I should play the relationship card for the second semester. I have already been accepted to my college and I know I will be moving away in September.

My real question is, Is it pointless to start relationships when I know that I will have to move away in mere months? I don't like hooking up, but I think it seems like that is my only choice at this point. I don't really want a huge emotional connection or else I will not want to leave, but I will have to. If anyone has any advice or commentary please let me know.

I've heard from every senior who's graduated before me that the second semester is infamous for bad hookups. Most people I've known would say to go for it. Just don't do anything that stupid.

It's just the same as every other relationship you've had in high school, unless you're one of those that for some odd reason is looking for a serious marriage-bound relationship in high school.

None of them were serious, none of them were going to last forever, so why not? It's just the same.

If you don't want to hook up or establish a meaningful relationship, can't you just wait the several months? I echo asdfjkl1, just don't do anything stupid. ;)

And in the slight chance you fall in love, long distance relationships aren't that bad. :)
