2nd semester freshman transfer? or apply as spring semester freshman?

Hey everyone,

So I am currently a freshman at USFCA, and it's good and all, but I just don't feel like its the right fit for me. I'm in the process of finding other schools that I'm going to apply to, but have one main question: Can I apply to all these schools as a spring semester freshman rather then applying for a transfer? I realize transfers have significantly fewer options for getting merit aid offered to them, so it would be ideal to be able to apply as a freshman, using my high school gpa/act/sat... I just don't know if it's allowed.

Thanks, and any guidance is appreciated!

Since only you know the list of target schools, then it’s incumbent upon you to find the rules for each. They can vary greatly. There’s no one-answer-fits-all for your question. Good luck.

Thanks for your response, a lot of the schools I’m looking at only allow transfers with more then 60 unites of transferrable credits. However, they don’t say anything about applying as a freshman, and forfeiting the credits earned at the other college. If they don’t explicitly say you can do that, does it typically mean that they wouldn’t allow you to apply as a freshman?

Again, it’s anyone’s guess as each college has their own rules. There’ s no substitute for your calling them up and getting clarification. No internet forum query is going to get you what you need.
