As the title above says, does anyone know if MIT would rescind admission if you were to get 2 or 3 B+'s (or B's) in your 2nd semester of senior year? (relatively, i have had a 4.0 throughout high school)

Thanks

I’m in the same situation.

This thread states that anything above a C is okay, but if you get a C they will send you a letter asking for an explanation.

I’m not sure though. Can anyone with experience confirm?

that thread works, but anything more specific on the NUMBER of B’s allowed would be greatly appreciated.

now i am scared.

You’re not going to find anything specific on the number of B’s allowed. As I have said elsewhere, in four years on this board, I have not heard of a student being rescinded.

Don’t slack off.

if you were able to get into mit in the first place then you have the ability and motivation (this may be the more important part) to hold your grades up. just keep working hard and finish the year off well and there will be no problems

Uh, I did very poorly my 2nd term HS senior yr. Got 2 C’s. There were some reasons and I did have to explain myself, but it turned out OK. As long as you’re not completely ignoring your academics, you’ll at least have a chance to explain your situation.

That being said, if you don’t want to spend your summer a nervous mess with your future hanging on the line and no safety option, keep your grades up.

I wish people would stop freaking out about a few B’s or B+'s. Believe it or not, some people GOT INTO MIT with that on their record. Unless you do really poorly, you’ll be absolutely fine.

Yah, just don’t get any C’s.
