So basically I'm a biology major - but I realized I hate it and want to do business (i.e. AEM). I'm already in CALS, but I haven't taken a single AEM class. Is it too late for me to switch to AEM? Can I simply switch to AEM? Please help.

Weren't you a transfer student? Transferring again might raise some eyebrows. Also, can't you do an AEM minor?

can you even get into the major? theres no point thinking about it if they dont let you in... id say stick with bio for now and take some aem classes and transfer and see if you get in. AEM is one of the hardest majors to transfer into. It's kind of late but if you had a bunch of AP credits that could skip you out of like micro/macro, calculus requirements then you could finish... Shouldn't be too hard to take 22+ credits a term as an AEM major

You need to talk to an academic adviser.

pre-med plans down the drain?

you can always do an AEM minor..if you're in cals...

i actually considered AEM minor too but it looked complicated hahah so i didn't bother

I didn't realize they had a minor...

I agree with Cayuga....talk to your advisor and maybe even someone in the AEM department.

You want to change your major to AEM, but haven't taken a single AEM class?

I'd say for this upcoming semester, take an AEM class or two, because idk how you will get admitted to the major without having taken a class. Plus, you should probably take a class in the subject before dropping your current major, how do you even know you will like AEM?

But definitely talk to someone in the AEM dept. I know a few bio people who have added on an AEM minor to the bio major and that is completely doable.

(Also....If you are not 100% sure you want to drop the bio major... and you are halfway through a sequence (like orgo since you're a sophomore) I wouldn't drop the second half.. just in case you decide you decide to finish the bio major, it might be a pain to have to add on 2nd semester of orgo junior or senior year when you've forgotten the 1st semester of material.)

Thanks coffeeee (lol, fun to say)

I'm not dropping the second set in the sequences just yet, and I also added one business class for next semester, AEM 1200. Seems to be the best "intro" class to get me adjusted to AEM. I think I'll actually just do the minor though, I only need 6 classes for the minor in Business, and after AEM 1200 and the Stats class I have to take for my major, it's only 4 more classes.

One thing, if I minor in business, will that be enough for me to apply to business jobs? Will they care I minored in business at Cornell?
