3/22 10:40 a.m. EST - Duke's decisions are up online

um...yeah, how does one log into the Duke Website? there was a place where it asked for an email and password, but i put my email in the "forgot your password?" section, and they said they didnt have it. When I went to register, it seemed like it was only to be put on the mailing list...what am i doing wrong?

Did u ever get a pin # from Duke after u applied?

you should call the admin office to see if they can help you

they should have given you a letter in the mail and within the letter they give you a pin
go to the website, register w/the e-mail you sent out the application with, and you get a username...and then you log in with that username and PW

NO FEAR, Decisions will be UP:
7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

less than 10 days.

Much much less than ten days....we have a long weekend seeing that this monday is a holdiay so, next wednesday (decision day) is going to come sooo much quickly.

I'm on spring break, so the days just seem so long. Less than 108 hours left

my god it scared me to death
actually only legal's son got the decision rite?

Well, not exactly, we think they may have made a mistake...but she did she A decision, it may not have been her son's.

wow legalpeach you dropped the ball. this thread has over 6000 views now, so i guess thats a lot of unnecessarily worried people. come on now, high school seniors are walking on eggshells as is, we cant be dealing with false alarms. the thing i love about dukes admissions is how straight forward they are. on their site it tells your exactly how and when your decision will come up, which is a lot better than a place like georgetown which (pleasantly)surprised me wth a letter today.

Dont blame legalpeach, it was Duke's fault...she was just informing us that she got her decision and she assumed (rightfully so) that everyone else would have gotten their own aswell seeing that Duke doesnt go by rolling admissions...She, like i said before, was actually being considerate toward us...it caused a racous, but...it helped me because i got rid of some of that tension that was building up when from January.

i'm sure that everybody got this email, but just in case...

Dear _______,

I want to let you know that we will allow Regular Decision applicants (and Early Decision applicants whose admissions decision was deferred to Regular Decision) to Duke University to view their admissions decisions on-line beginning 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

If you've already registered on our site and created your own user ID and password, you can check your decision by going to our web site, <a href="http://www.admissions.duke.edu%5B/url%5D">www.admissions.duke.edu</a>. Just log in as a returning user with your user ID and password and click on the "Check My Status" button, which will take you to the admissions decision screen. Then click on "Decision Letter" to view your admissions decision.

If you've registered on our site but haven't used your access code to create your own user ID and password, just get your access code from the two-page Data Verification Letter we mailed you when you first submitted your application, and click on the "Have My Access Code" button, located on the right side of our home page. After doing so, you will have access to your admissions decision on Wednesday.

If you haven't already registered on our site and set up your password and user ID, you will need to do so. We realize that by registering on our site you are providing information that we already have; however, this step is a necessary part of the on-line registration process. Once you've registered you can use your access code to create your user ID and password, which will give you access to your admissions decision on Wednesday.

Using your access code to create a user ID and password is the only way to view your application and admissions status decision on-line. That code was included on the two-page Data Verification Letter you received from us after you began your Duke application (international students received theirs via e-mail). Please keep in mind that your access code is not the PIN number you used to apply on-line.

Since we deliver our decision letters only to the applicants themselves, we expect that only the applicant will be checking his or her decision on-line. We will ask you--as a final step--to confirm that you are the applicant before you are able to see your admissions decision.

Almost 60% of our Regular Decision applicants have already registered, and set up passwords and user IDs, so they could check whether their applications were complete. Now those of you who have registered and entered your access code will be able to see your admissions decision as well.

If you cannot locate your Duke access code, I am very sorry that for security reasons we are not able to provide it to you by phone or e-mail. I hope you understand that maintaining the confidentiality of our applicants' records needs to be our first concern. Of course, we will still be mailing all of our decision letters, and they will be mailed the first week of April or we can provide your admissions decision by telephone beginning Monday, April 4, 2005.

If you decide to check your decision online, we strongly encourage you to check your decision in the privacy of your own home, not at school. We believe your decision is a private matter, and for many reasons we have found it's best for applicants to be away from friends and classmates when they check their decisions.

If you have any technical questions, please direct them to support@admissions.duke.edu. You can direct all other questions or concerns to the Admissions Office staff at 919-684-3214 beginning Monday, April 4, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Good luck with all of your applications, and thanks again for applying to Duke!

Christoph Guttentag
Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Duke University
