3.3 GPA, 30 ACT. What are my chances for Cal Poly SLO?

Hi, so I've been really concerned about my chances of being admitted to Cal Poly SLO as it is my top choice. I plan on majoring in Computer Science and was wondering whether or not my GPA decimated my chances. My GPA is low because of difficulties (such as parent separation, dysthimia during my Sophmore and Junior year)

Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.3
ACT:
Composite: 30
English: 30
Math: 31
Reading: 32
Science : 26
Writing: 9
Combined English and Writing: 29

Volunteer work - Well over 100 hours

E.C.: Law Enforcement Exploring
Robotics Club
I.C.E. Club
Developed School mobile App

Honors/Awards:

Honor Roll 3x
Nation Latin Exam Cum Laude x2
Nation Latin Exam Maxima Cum Laude

I also applied to Cal Poly SLO for computer science. My unweighted GPA is 3.66 and my fully weighted GPA is 4.29. My SAT score is 2300. I was rejected. My GPA decimated my chances. Your GPA is 0.36 points below mine, so your GPA will probably decimate your chances too.

SLO: High Reach
CS is very competitive and your GPA and Test scores are pretty much everything to admissions. SLO also uses Freshman grades and has a bonus point system see link:

You should consider UCR and some of the Cal States: Fullerton, Long Beach and Cal Poly Pomona

Younger son UC GPA 3.73 ACT 31 10 AP’s and 2 Honors classes, rejected from SLO.

Cal Poly engineering stats:

avg GPA: 4.12
avg ACT: 32

Cal Poly: High Reach

Given your stats, it would be extremely challenging. I would suggest you apply to Cal Poly Pomona, UCR, or UCM.

Only chance I see is, you are first to go to college in your family, are non-caucasian, and have all possible bonus points for academics. I agree, choose another 1st choice and apply to some schools that aren’t highly selective.
