i know, a lot of them are crap.

That’s only a few of my ECs from my resume, what do u guys think, any advice or comments is helpful, Thanks!

Any other schools that you think would be good matches for me?

Little/No Chance (I would advise you not to apply):
Penn
UNC-Chapel Hill
WU STL

Reach (Unlikely admittance):
Notre Dame
Northwestern
USC

Slight Reach (I don't think you will get in but you might):
UVA
Mich.- Ann Arbor
U of Chicago

Match (Stats fit well, more likely to get in than be rejected):
Carnegie Mellon
NYU

Safe Match (Only reason they'd reject you is "Tufts Syndrome"):
Case Western

GPA is good (3.63), test scores are good, although heavily skewed by a out-of-this-world math score. A 1400 is suitable for most schools, although an 800 followed by two 600s shows expertise in an area, and good scores in 2 others. Admissions officers would be wary of this.

any other opinions, if you could, comment on a2 wolve's decisions. thanks, bump.

STL is a reach, not some insane outside one. I think Carnegie Mellon is a reach. Northwestern you may have little/no chance. Chicago is also a reach.

what is the tufts syndrome?

anymore opinions plz, thanks homies.

bumppppppppppppppp

Tufts Syndrome I think is not accepting someone because they don't think that person would actually go if accepted.

I don't understand why A2 considered Penn to be almost no chance? We are talking about University of Pennsylvania right? If that's the case, if you ask me that would be a fair if not good chance. I know people with 1900s SAT, less extra curriculars (a lot less) and got into Penn. Plus, if you look at their stats sheet it shows some people with lower SATs that still got in. Of course the numbers are much fewer but they still got it somehow. So I think you have a fair shot

Penn has an 18% admittance rate, meaning you have a 1 in 5 chance of being accepted, if you are an average applicant. The OP's test scores are well below the bottom 25% in Writing and English, and overall in the bottom 25% of all applicants. His GPA is in the bottom 40%. He has lower than an 18% chance, meaning he does not have good chances. As for WUSTL, it's the same situation. 21% of the applicants are admitted, and his scores are lower than their 25% mark.

If you go by those statistics I guess that would be true. Sometimes I think Penn is overrated...lol maybe because I'm in the area.
Anyway if you can demonstrate to them through an interview/essay that you're desireable to their student body then you should be fine in my opinion.

sweettttt, thanks guys, or girls, anymore opinions?!?!?! or comments. GREATLY APPRECIATED

Penn-high reach
NYU-reach
U of Chicago-reach
UVA-slight reach
Northwestern-slight reach
Mich.- Ann Arbor-slight reach
UNC-Chapel Hill-reach
Carnegie Mellon-reach
WU STL-slight reach/match
Notre Dame-slight reach
USC-match
Case Western-match

I'd say the only insane reach on their is Penn. Then Washington U is a pretty big reach as well. Other than those two schools, you should at least apply to the rest because you never know what will happen with you being in the ballpark of the remaining ones on the list.

Penn isn't that insane of a reach. I mean, it's not Cornell, but it's still not as hard as most Ivies.

I think that you have a decent shot at U of Chicago. My daughter got in with similar statistics, but she did apply EA. Chicago really wants to see that you have a particular interest in the school and that you feel it is a good fit for you. I would also recommend that you play up one or more of your special interests and show why it is meaningful to you and get good recs from someone involved with them. Visit Chicago first and see if you like it. Anyway, that would be my recommendation if you are serious about getting into Chicago and really want to go there. Also, go for a campus interview.

thanks for your help guys, any more opinions are greatly appreciated.

<3 comments <3 lol

Your college list looks pretty similar to mine
Do what I'm doing. UChicago EA, Penn ED.
It will significantly increase your chance of getting in. But of course, you will have to find a way to stand out from ED/EA pool.
