3.77 GPA 1860 SAT subpar HS Grades

I am looking to transfer out of a NY State College, the college is one of the better in new york but im sure most of you have never heard of it. My GPA is HS was like a 3.0 with 1860 SAT. My first semester I have a 3.77 with a pretty strong schedule. I was just wondering if some of you could throw out some names of schools i could look at. Location doesnt really matter to me.

thanks

You would need to tell us what you hope to study and how much you can afford.

I am currently undecided but I am looking at business, communications, or history. Money is not a key issue

bump plz help

You do realize almost everybody is busy four now?
Anyway, are you willing to go out of state?

busy four now! that spelling just aint right. out of state is fine

Auto-correct strikes again! I meant “right now”.

You should consider UT Austin or Texas A&M for the business part. I don’t have a clue on the other two though, sorry. UT and Texas A&M are great schools for a low price (lower in your case) yet are among the best in the nation. You definitely should not overlook these schools.

On a second note, UT has an amazing liberal arts college. You could even try to get into the BHP for business (really, really competitive) or plan 2 (even more competitive I think). Cockrell at UT is your safe bet for business, and the liberal arts for history for sure.

UT is a great school, could be an option thanks. still looking for some more schools though

Cockrell is UT’s engineering school. McCombs is UT’s school of business, and out of state transfers are HIGHLY competitive.

interesting, all top state schools are pretty competitive for out of staters

thanks for the list but that doesnt help me with where i can get in

Yes, sorry, I meant McCombs. I confuse those two a lot because I’m always talking about Cockrell (future engineer here) and I can hardly ever remember the business school’s name lol. All of your choices will be very competitive since you will be a transfer, but you should definitely give UT and A&M a chance. I am highly oblivious to the universities outside of Texas that are not the Ivy, quasi-Ivy, or some of the UCs.
