3.88 GPA / low LSAT

Hi everyone,

I am sort of new to this forum, but I have a few questions -- most of which are rather personalized.

I graduated last year from Harvard College with a 3.88 GPA, majoring Economics and History.

I'm not certain, but I'd say my "softs" will be pretty strong (5-6 leadership positions during college, ample community service, employed every summer in college, strong LORs.)

Personal statement: unsure, but I'm looking forward to writing it.

Here's the problem (and one that is not new to this forum, I'm sure.) I've taken a handful of practice LSAT tests but seem to score only in the low 160's. Granted, there's two months yet to raise this score, but, in the event I do, in fact, score in the low 160's, which law schools would be a good safety/fit/reach for me?

Thanks kindly in advance!

You wont get into H/Y/S… you might can get into UT, you can get into a few T50s…

what schools are you shooting for??

What state are you in?

Thanks for the response.

I don’t have any real definitive reaches right now.

I’m a resident of Texas. I’ll keep UT on my radar.

For Texas Law , UT/UH/SMU are your best options. You should be able to get a job coming from any of those, provided you make good grades.

Texas Tech / Baylor are options too. Contact those schools(ut/uh/smu/tech/bay) and find out their employment statistics. Just because a school isnt ranked very high doesn’t mean you wont get a job.

You should be able to get into UH/Tech/SMU.

If you cant get in UT and cant afford SMU, i’d shoot for UH.
