I am going to be a senior finance major at Texas A&M University in the upcoming year. I currently have a 4.0 GPA, both in my major and cumulatively. I scored a 168 on the June 2008 LSAT. I plan on applying to Texas Law. What do you think my chances of admittance are? In addition, what do you think my REALISTIC chances are of being admitted to the top law schools, i.e. Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc.? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you are a Texas state resident and have no disciplinary issues, you're in UT-A. If you aren't a state resident, you're probably still in.

If you aren't a URM and/or have something else special to offer, I don't think you will get into YHS. At the 7-14 level, you've got a chance. If you want to stay in Texas, I'm not sure it's worth the extra money if you are a state resident.

At UT-Austin your GPA is above the 75th percentile and your LSAT = the 75th percentile. You're in for sure. As far as HYS, it's a huge reach because of your LSAT...if you're really interested in those schools, retaking into the 171-173 range would make you a competitive candidate. I agree with jonri that you've got an excellent chance at the 7-14 schools if you're interested.
