Or is that percentage not accurate? I thought I would be in that bracket, since I’m not in the top tenth. I was recently looking at the guidance counselor form from the common app and it seems like I may fall under the school does not rank category because my school provides deciles. Can anyone help me out on which statistic I would be a part of? For the past few weeks I’ve felt grim being in the seemingly hopeless 2nd Tenth and below. Thanks for reading.

Ask your counselor whether your rank was sent or not. If Brown sees that you're in the second tenth, it doesn't matter what statistic you "are a part of" because they evaluate you based on what they see.

rank doesnt mean anything without context.

Well I have around a 93 gpa and we have a class size of roughly 120.

i think you mean grades don't mean anything without context.
rank is the context because it shows how your grades are compared to everyone else's in your school.

the official stat is that 92% of the class of 2011 at Brown were in the top decile at their respective high schools. So the acceptance rate for those not in the top decile is probably not as low as 3%, though it certainly is much harder for you to get in than someone in the top decile.
