3 Years in college-Good or Bad for transferring?

Hi all,
I've been studying in a cc (RCC) for 1.5 years, and will apply for transferring to UCLA next semester.
That is, I will have been in college for 3 years...(Most transfer students have merely studied in colleges for 2 years, right?)
Will this cause any negative effects to a transfer student?
Will UCLA (or any other UCs) reject student because they spend longer time in colleges?

BTW, my major is Architecture Design and I'm planning to transfer to School of Arts & Architectures in UCLA.....
So far I've completed 4x units...I did not take any classes in the previous summer/winter.
If 3-years is not the crucial reason for rejection, I will stop studying in college after finishing 60 units. ---- Does this work?

I do appreciate any help from you! : )

i don’t believe studying in CC for more than 2 years will hurt your chances to a UC. im about to finish my 3rd year at CC and ive been accepted to UCSD and UCD for Econ.

No it does not. Neither do they care if you’ve applied a thousand times, they want your application fees. With the budget cuts in the CCC’s, they also know that students may take longer to complete their IGETC/pre-reqs and would prefer if you have those completed than applying without them.

Good luck in the application process!

They don’t really care how long youre there, as long as youre productive. I’ve been at a cc for 3 years at the end of spring quarter (because I’m taking care of my mom) and I just got into UCLA today. Its not a good thing or a bad thing, you just have to do your best while you are there and fulfill your prereqs.

OMG I get it I get it!
I am so certain that they do want the application fees. : )
Thanks again soooo much!!

P.S. >minilily: Congratulations !!! you rocks!!!
