Hehe. I guess I'll join in here. just my first time taking it though, not sure if I'm going to try to raise it.

Composite score of 30.
35 in science :D

So I'm a member, but just barely. 30.25. If I had only done better in the math section.

English: 35
Math: 27. kill me.
Reading: 30
Science: 29

30 comp., in spite of miserable 23 on science. Any suggestions on how to raise science. I ran out of time and just filled in B on last 10 or so. Probably not good idea.hmmmm

Was thinking of sticking with SATs but if I can just get that science up, ACT would certainly enhance. Sure would be nice to just delete science from the equation...any schools out there allow that???

31.5 ---> 32 WOOOT (first time taking it)

comp: 30
barely made it too

english: 33
math: 29 <--?! supposed to be my best section
reading: 26 <--failed miserably
science: 33 <-- suprise

Comp = 33.

oh boo

Composite 31
English 33
Math 33
Reading 29 (soooo happy for this thought I would surely get a 25)
Science 27 (do not know what happened, got a 34 last time)

This was my first time taking it... no prep! =)

Composite: 32
English: 30
Math: 32 (I don't know what happened... math is my strongest subject)
Reading: 31
Science: 34 (I was worried about this one...Just goes to show that some practice tests are crap. Took 2 of Peterson's and got a 20 both times)

Yeah! First time! Thank goodness for rounding.
Composite: 34
English: 33
Math: 32
Reading: 35
Science: 34

I thought I did horrible on this test. When I checked my score, I was praying to break 30. Ironically, I thought I was going to ace the math section and fail the science section. For all you Feb. takers, when should we get our essay score back? Thanks.

Mine is actually up right now. I don't know how long it's been there since I just checked it.

Question: If a college does not require the writing section, does it matter if you took it and did rather poorly? I got a 34 composite with a 9 on the writing section...and English/writing stuff makes up a huge portion of my ECs. I'm a strong writer but I guess I suck at standardized essays.

sigh I'm sad. I thought I was done (first time taking it). But now I have to retake in April just to fix that stupid essay section.

Is it that easy to nail 34/35? ACT seems easier than SAT. but do you guys read the whole passages? and I assume writing is harder.

What books does a person need to ace the ACT. ( The act official test, Princeton ACT, ? )

A 34/35 is NOT easy to nail, no matter what anyone says. I mean, come on, it's in the freaking 99+ percentile.

it's easier for some people than a 1500+ SAT

yeah...i think i'm a pretty good example:

1st ACT:
composite-33
math-32
english-34
science-32
reading-33

essay- 6 haha...long story

2nd ACT:
composite-34
math-35
english-35
reading-33
science-33

essay-??

1st SAT:
math-740
reading-630...far from a 33 on the ACT
english-740 w/ 10 essay
total: 1370/2110

it just depends on which is easier for YOU. i work so much better with the way the english questions, math questions, and reading questions are worded on the ACT

Hi all. First post! :)

35 comp

35 english
32 math
36 reading
35 science
10 essay

1st time taking it and I was uber surprised. When I saw it the first time I thought it had to be a mistake!

Just got writing in.

English: 34
Reading: 34
Math: 28 --
Science: 34
Writing: 8 --

Since that was with no prep, a retake is probably in my future.

35 Composite.

This was my first time.

Composite: 33 (Bleh)
English: 36
Writing: 36
Math: 30
Science: 30
Essay: 10

Math and Science aren't good, but I really thought I would do worse. I ran out of time and totally guessed on about 5 questions with both. I'm not thrilled with a 33, but it definitely is better than I thought I would do right after I took the test.

My first time back in December:

Composite: 30
English: 34
Math: 25 ... meh. I'm not too great at math
Reading: 31 .. that was a surprise
Science: 28
Writing: 11

I'm taking it again in April and hope to get my terrible math score up and my science score as well.

Posts 138 & 139: RETAKE!!! It's all about the timing. Now you know what to expect.
