3000/4000 level schedule-filler courses

Last semester was my first semester at FSU: made the Dean's List, but taking a full time load of fairly challenging courses came close to driving me mad. Only taking a part time load this semester and already feeling kind of swamped.

Anyway, I want to be able to meet the expected number of credit hours (12, I think?) for the next Fall and Spring semester respectively (2012/2013) and after this semester I'll only have 15 credit hours left in my major - but I'll need 33 upper-level credit hours to graduate. Does anyone have any suggestions for relatively light 3000/4000 level courses I can take outside of my major that I can just use to fill my schedule in the future?

This is not uncommon. Typically, students do this once and then they learn about limits. Schedule management is essential to academic survival at Florida State if you are in a tough major.

Some suggestions are:

Personal Finance
Intro to Theatre

Usually 3000-level “Intro to” courses are less demanding and can be very rewarding. Consider economics, statistics, philosophy (caveat emptor with this), humanities (again caveat emptor. I took a humanities course thinking it would be fairly direct and it turned out to have all essay exams and was quite tough), language (this can be fun, but usually has daily classes).

CLT3378 was pretty easy.

CLT3378 (Ancient Mythology) if you haven’t. Especially with Branscome. The class is a joke. Branscome is at least pretty interesting.

HUM3321 (Multicultural Film) is another, especially if you take it online.

If OCE4017 (Issues in Environmental Science) is taught by Chanton in the fall and you are at all interested in the subject, that’s another really simple one.

I don’t really know of any other classes that I’d classify as schedule-filler in the 3000-4000 levels.
