I have been accepted to the University of Florida. I sent in a 32 ACT but decided against sending my 1410/2120 superscored SAT. Is there anyway I can still send my scores and get an honors college invitation?

If you go to a public school in Florida, they already have it. They have all of my scores… even the ones I didn’t send.

This is on the Honors program website: “If you do not receive an invitation with your notice of admission to UF but still believe you qualify for Honors, please call the Office of Admissions at (352) 392-1365.”

They say they’ll accept scores from the December 2009 test dates, but no later scores. You need a 2070 combined (cr, ma, wr) SAT score or a 33 composite ACT (based on a single sitting, not superscored like the SAT).

I’d suggest if you are not sure that they received your SAT score, call that phone number. Or you could wait 'til you receive your written confirmation of UF admission and see if you’ve been invited (in which case your HS probably sent all your scores whether you asked for them or not).

The deadline for filling out the honors application is postmark of March 12 for those who got their applications in by Nov. 1st.

Do you get invited via your online decision or via your mail/printed decision?

Via your snail mail actual paper in an envelope decision. :)

If you apply for housing, then get accepted to honors, will the housing change? Do you have pay extra to switch to the honors dorm?

If you are accepted into the Honors Program, Housing will have your name “flagged”. When you receive the email accepting you into the program, you can call Housing and they will change your first choice to Hume. You don’t have to pay extra to switch your choice to Hume, however, Hume is a more expensive dorm to live in to begin with.
