32 hours/week on ECs

I spend 15 hours/week on this tutoring program & exchange for refugees I started, 8 hours/week singing, 4 hours/week on DECA, 1.5 hrs for taekwondo, 1.5 hours volunteering in the library, and 1.5 hours/week as an officer in a club (the last one is probably more so but I don’t want to pad). The thing is that I love my ECs, I sing when I want to relax and take a break, same with taekwondo, and the exchange program I started is really time-consuming but I really enjoy it. So I’m not lying, I spend a lot of time on them.

But does 32 hours/week sound fabricated?

My kids found it tough because their hours went up in the summer for some activities, too, driving up the weekly #. I wouldn’t worry about it.

No, it doesn’t sound fabricated. Plenty of athletes, musicians, thespians, etc… spend a ton of time on their ECs. Some students have jobs that take up that much time.

The only EC that raises an eye brow for me is 8 hrs/singing. Are you in a chorus that meets that often?

@momofsenior1 I’m not in the choir- I do Indian classical vocal singing, and I perform solo concerts (around 20 minutes long) in the weekends. I practice an hour a day to maintain my voice and practice for concerts.

so overall, doesn’t sound fabricated?

If that’s what it is, then that’s what it is.

Although keep in mind that academics are much more important for admissions to college. You are adding almost a full time job to school. Maybe get more people involved in tutoring so you don’t have to do so much.
