Wow the last thing I expected after I messed up my SAT scores was to be a part of the class where almost every other high school senior decided to apply to Dartmouth and ruin whatever chances I had ;). Something had to happen when I apply to Dartmouth. I feel like suing the SuperBad producers :D

Well I have been posting under a different alias because I wanted to dedicate my 3200th post to something special. So here it is.

It has been a great experience posting on the Dartmouth forums. I had the opporunity to meet wonderful people on the board. I would like to dedicate this post to foggy for those reassuring PMs and the advice on my essay, to VeryHappy, jmmom and Bluebayou for also helping me out with lot of things, to sybbie for her advices and also to pamplemoose & GrenadeJumper { This guy still thinks I will make it, lol } ( ;) ) [I apologize if I missed out someone, its like 2 am in the morning and the caffeine in my blood is running out.]

Though yanarchy and supergaut dont visit these forums anymore but I would like to thank them for reading my dreaded essay drafts! Thank You Everyone!

Though I don't see myself getting into Dartmouth anymore, but this journey has been one hell of an experience. Dartmouth rocks! And it will continue to do so WITH or Without me!

Good Luck Everyone! Lets keep this party rolling till the end!

PS: Though this is a Dartmouth related post I think I cant do without mentioning issacnewton, aikomidori, tetrisfan & Rister_Christophus. :p

I agree with Foggy, that it ain't over tol its over.

No need to worry about things that you have no control over. all you can do now is let the process play it self out. No matter what happens, I am sure you will end up somewhere wonderful and you will do great things.

Ajay - If anyone deserved to get EC credit for CC, it's you! (So, does your alias have something to do with space travel???) Thanks for hanging in here with the '12 hopefuls! The Dartmouth board would suffer without you to keep things lively, and you never know how things might work out in the end of this application process. Even if you don't go to Dartmouth, you have the qualities of someone who will be very successful in his future work.

Ajay, thanks for the shoutout! BUT..... you shouldn't be giving up yet. Grenade jumper is not the only one who thinks you have a shot. Just don't forget to pm me once you get that big envelope from Dartmouth College in a few weeks. And, if the adcoms have a sudden lapse in judgement and you get deferred, I will be the first one to start a college-confidential letter-writing campaign to fight for you! I sincerely wish you the best!

An admissions counselor panel I attended a few years ago, when one of my S's was starting the process, said that you should never have a first-choice school; they should all be first choices. Ajay, while Dartmouth may be one of your first choices, you've got numerous others. There are a lot of considerations for you -- first, to get admitted (duh . . . ), then to get $$$ so you can afford it. You will wind up where you should wind up.

Keep us posted, Astronaut J -- uh -- I mean, Ajay.

foggy: I study in CBSE board so we have exams in march. I tried taking APs but it turned out to be a very costly affair here. But I guess there are lots of other things that will keep me busy my company, exams next week and then again next month! I'll make sure this chin stays up. :)

sybbie: Thank you! :)

rainmama : Thank You for your support! :) (oh yeah its something related to space travel ;) )

BalletGirl : I am not going anywhere! I will stick around till the end. I have applied EA to Kalamazoo, and I hear back on dec 20th. So I am hoping to hear atleast one good news this december.

pamplemoose : Thanks mate! PM? I will attach the biggest speakers I can lay my hands onto an aircraft and shout it out to the world IF I receive that packet! ;)

Oh damn, the secret is out! :o

PS: Ok thats way too smileys up there. But I wanted to post msgs individually so you have to put up with it! :D (whoops one more)

ajayc- if i wasted enough time to post 3200 times on collegeconfidential i would be pretty embarassed. Instead of wasting your time worrying publicly about whether or not you'll get in (and you have a very good chance of getting in i saw your stats on another thread), why dont you make good use of your time and get involved with a sport or club or try to get your SAT scores up. Also, its kind of sad how u think all these other posters are good friends--youve never even met them. In short, get out of your computer chair and do something productive.

this is probably his best source of college advice, as it is for me, and who knows, maybe he's an abnormally fast poster. I'm sure he does do productive things and CCing is the only thing he does in his spare time.

Just because D has bigger numbers this year, doesn't mean that they are ALL highly qualified. Hang in there. Yogi was right: it ain't over till it's over. Or, did he (also) say it ain't over till the Fat Lady sings, but then, Yogi, was probably not much of an opera buff. :)

ajay- like the others said, there is still definitely a chance that you will be accepted to Dartmouth (i hope i will, too). here's to experiencing that first (Christmas) snowfall in Hanover!
