I need your advice CCers!
I scored a 36 on my ACT, but only a 2200 on my SAT (760 W, 750M, 690 CR). Both were my first time taking the exams.
I really want a higher CR+M score, and I know I can score much higher on the CR. But with a 36 ACT, is it necessary or logical to retake the SATs? I'm looking to apply to schools like HYPS, or need a solid merit scholarship (1/2 tuition or more) to somewhere of close to those schools' caliber.
Thanks!

Every college only looks at one: either the SAT with Subject Tests OR the ACT with Writing. I don’t know why this is a question, you already have a perfect ACT, you’re done. You have nothing more to prove with the SAT. It would be a waste of your time, money, and effort to do any more testing. Congrats on the 36, now move on.

No you don’t have to submit the SAT

You definitely don’t need to retake SAT1, but you may submit that 2200 along with your SAT2 scores. It would not hurt you in any case.

For Ivy League and elite private schools, a 36 ACT is equivalent to a 2350 plus SAT – so you are absolutely fine – just send your ACTs

Don’t worry and DON’T retake the SAT. You’re absolutely fine with your ACT score for admissions purposes.

A 2200 is a fine score anyway.

A 2200 SAT score is well above average, your scores are nothing to be ashamed of!

Not even in the least bit. Most colleges look at the test that will help you the most, which in this case is the ACT. 2200 is fine anyways. The only reason I’d say you can take the SAT again is for your peace of mind, but you should rest assured knowing that they are both great (amazing) scores.
