<p>Based on my squad comm (despite my AOC last year wholeheartedly approving me staying out later...) I have to be back by 7:00PM on two of the dinners. I can use my Dean's pass to stay out later on one (probably session 2 by the looks of it). Any others having this problem?</p>

<p>For those of us who aren't exactly military (yet), what are AOC and ACQ? I wonder if the our armed forces would actually work more efficiently if these kind and brave folk actually used WORDS instead of abbreviations or acronyms, etc.</p>

<p>fencersmom - I hear ya! Sometimes reading bulletandpima I am totally lost. </p>

<p>AOC is Air Officer Commanding - permanent party members in charge of the squads. (Usually majors or close to that rank)</p>

<p>ACQ - Academic Call to Quarters - time set aside for cadets to be able to study (I call it military curfew when cadets have to be "home". Usually 1900-2230 hours.)</p>

<p>Haha, once you are "in the know" about the lingo, it becomes so much simpler. To a cadet, I could just say "we have a triple threat," To everyone else it becomes "We have a Saturday morning inspection, a parade, and an open-ranks inspection"...then explain what each one of those is.</p>

<p>Contrails has a list of cadet lingo in the back.

Looking at all that, it does seem to be a lot. I guess we just get used to it.</p>

<p>Alrighty guys. Due to ACQ restrictions on us cadets. Please let us know when people's flights are arriving. It would be best if dinners can start at 4:45PM-5:00PM to allow the most amount of time for us to talk and eat. We have to be back by 7:00 which requires us to leave around 6:30-6:40. If we're lucky and only one group would have a problem, that would solve it since we will be allowed one of those nights to stay much later (for those on the Dean's list anyways). Please let us know!</p>
