~3rd quarter my worst, advice from straight A students

I have a 3.2 cumulative btw and I go to a private school. I'm taking 2 AP classes, the quarter ends next Monday. Right now I have a 2.7 gpa this quarter when I add up everything

English 2A-96
Geometry-69 (will probably be a low 70 by the end of the week)
American Studies-88
Art-90
Religion 2-93.5
Biology-87
Latin-90

Is it possible to maintain my 3.2 GPA or even bring it by the end of the year.
I feel horrible right now because I know I was slacking this quarter :( and I want to go to BU or NYU for college

Your only real problem is that you are slacking it looks like, not having trouble. I have always got 90+ in geometry effortlessly however math is my best subject, I know some people that have been having more trouble in geometry than any other class as well. But if you have a 69 in Geometry then you probably aren’t trying hard enough, I think at the very least you should try to get a B in it, I know that won’t be possible by the end of the grading period but for the next one that should be your goal at least.

If you are slacking the most likely reason is that you lack motivation and aren’t thinking about your future. I think you may realize now where your grades are going to get you now and that’s not what you want to happen and that you should be able to pick up your grades. I made friends with all of the smart nerds at my school when I used to hang out with some sort of ■■■■■■■. When all of my grades were significantly lower than my new friends I decided to try lots harder and now I make usually 6 A’s and one B on my report card (AP English). I know which college I want to go to (University of Texas at Austin) and how hard I have to try to get into it and from the way my grades are now that since I have turned everything around, I will have about a 95% chance of getting into it.

bump…

I dont know if these tips will help, i usually get straight A’s all year round without any work. But here are my two cents:

Do your hw right after you come home from school. Dude/dudette, it totally makes a diff. Everything is fresh in your mind. Furthermore, you dont have to give yourself a push to get started since you are in “school mode.”

Turn off the phone/tv. Its may be ok for you to listen to music, I do. I particularly like listening to trance/techno or classical while I work. I just hate not hearing something. But sometimes I focus so much that I cant hear the music anyway.

Identify your worst subjects. You seem to be bad at math. Put extra work in to get good grades. The amount of effort that you put in has a direct relationship to how well you do in these troublesome classes. FOr example, i usually ace math classes (and things related to math). However, my one Achilles heel is espa

Thank you guys!
