4.0 unweighted

Does anyone here retain a 4.0 unweighted? Evidently meaning that you have been earning straight As thus far.

If you do, you are amazing.

I've always wanted to know. How do you convert your grade into those number things?

A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1

Just add up all of your grades and divide it by how many classes you've taken.

you guys have the grading scale the lucky way. Here, in SC, the GPA is based on your actual percentage. For example, a 97% is like a 4.5 or something and a 98% is like a 4.675.

You guys are so lucky! Here, they count our percentages. Do you count PE toward your GPA? Also, I heard Canadian grading scales are different from American ones, like a A is 80% and more. Because I know that at least in Quebec, an A is 92% and more. We are usually two or three to get a 92% or more in a class... Also, we don't have weighted grades.. How do you calculate a weighted GPA?

For us, PE (as of the 06-07 school year) is included in the unweighted GPA, but not the weighted one. This was a recent change, though.

^
Ok, here we don't have GPAs though, but if you don't count PE, my UW GPA is 4.0. If you do it's 3.88. Though my general percentage average is equivalent to an A+... My grades are much more flattering in percentage than on the 4.0 scale. Are there any others out there who are in the same case?

An A here is a 93%+, so it's somewhat harder to get an A

A 4.0 here is a 96+. I have a 3.86. I have a weighted 4.75 though.

On the 100 point scale I have about an unweighted 95.55.

Grades for this year (Freshman year): (90,94,95,95,96,96,97,98,99) LOL

I'm so thankful that our system is:
A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1

Yes, I have a 4.0. Sometimes its distressing to think that we have no weighted GPAs though, because I could get one B in an AP or honors class and end up like 20th in my class, and behind people who take all the easiest classes.

^

That would be horrible! I don't think it would happen in my school, because we have percentage grades, and most of our classes are mandatory.

As I said earlier, it's kinda hard to get a 92% (A) anywhere, because we don't have multiple-choices tests and extra credit. Instead, our system is heavily based on essays, one answer questions and problems. But my freshman year, I had 97 (French), 100 (English), 99 (Sciences), 98 (Bio), 100 (Maths), 100 (History), 92 (Arts), 77 (PE), 100 (PPO- sort of a career choice class). Our classes average are in the low 70's though, so I'm well above it. We used to have the ABCD system, but they changed to 12345 system, where you have + and - too. A 3 is 60% and the minimum passing grade. 5+ is 100%.

i have a 4.0 uw, hopefully i can keep it up though

For anyone who doesn't know: This is DataBox. You<Him

I have a 4.0 uw, but I'm only an incoming sophomore, so I don't think I count.

Getting a 4.0 as a freshman is easy as cake.

Going to be a senior, rank 1 out of 604, 4.0 uw gpa, took ap bio, and ap calc, and going to take more aps and dual enrollment. hope i can hold on to it lol.

My school doesn't rank but I would be val if we did.

I have a 4.0 UW. Our school is 90+= 4.0, even if it may say "A-" on the report card. I don't think I have any A- on mine though, avoided one first sem. this year because my math teacher was nice and reports anything in the A range as an A. I really wish I knew my rank. Messed up freshman year by not taking two weighted classes when I should have.

Man, everyone here makes me feel utterly inferior...

^
That's the point of CC. I think there was someone I saw earlier who went to a school where only a 100 was an A, and no one had ever gotten straight A's.
