Just a quick question, is a 4.0 required to get into Stanford or any other equally good colleges? If I was to get a 3.8-3.95. But took a bunch of honors and AP courses would I have a good chance at Stanford or other great colleges?

I am only a freshmen so I still have a 4.0 because I have only taken one summer course. I just want to know what I can't go below before starting to worry about getting into a good college.

Is that 4.0 weighted or unweighted?

Oh its you again… Your GPA is great!!! Keep up the good work.

I know a 4.0 is good but if I ended up with a 3.7-3.9 would I still be okay.

Keep in that those are unweighted gpa’s so a 3.9 weighted is going to yeild a GPA over a 100 (or 4.2ish). My son graduated this year and will attend Stanford in the fall his overall unweighted GPA was 98.9 and his weighted GPA was 102.6. So does that help?

I do think that a 3.7 might be on the lower side. But GPA is not the only thing that schools look at. They will check your rank, test scores, ec’s etc.
