4.1 Good enough?

Hello!
I am a current junior at a northern Virginian high school, and I was hoping the students who were accepted to UVA could inform me a little more about UVA’s standards.
I did poorly my sophomore and freshman years, leaving me with a low GPA. (Does not surpass a 4, even if it is weighted) however this year, with the grades I have now (with a couple Bs and A-s, I’ll end junior year with a 4.1 average.
My question today is to ask if anyone has been accepted with a low GPA similar to mine? And what you did to make up for it? Thank you!

GPA doesn’t tell the full story. We are much more concerned with the actual courses and grades on the transcript.

I always like to point out you could have students with identical GPAs at the same high school and very different transcripts.

Hello Dean J!
As all stereotypical responses come XD, thank you for replying! I am truly grateful that someone has taken the time to write to my post. I have frequently visited your blog before, and it is extremely helpful. The reason that I have posted a post like this is because I cannot stop stressing. I know knowing others who have been accepted with a low GPA will not guarantee my acceptance, but I can’t stop looking for others to compare myself to. It’s been difficult reflecting on my grades and scores, clearly understanding that numbers do not define a person, but I continuously look for an outlet to calm my unnecessary anxiety. Once more, thank you so much!
