4.38 UC *uncapped GPA but 3.78 uw gpa?

i know ive posted a chance thread before but im just freaking out about my gpa...just looking at my gpa do i still have a chance? also i was wondering if i got 3 3's on my ap tests does that harm me at all? ive always thought that ap scores never mattered. Everyone else told me that anyways....

Don’t freak out. Lol if you’ll fit in, they will accept you. I noticed that certain colleges look for a certain type of group. For instance, NYU looks for creativity in their students, and Berkeley looks for students that have are unique (like a student has dropped out of high school and then wanted to start their life over or a student spent their whole life raising their little brother or something…OR someone who has worked through a challenge, etc.) if your essay shows that you are the right fit, they will accept you. Otherwise, you’ll get into the college that doesn’t fit you. So don’t worry if you don’t get in to berkeley or another college that you really liked because it may not be what you think it is.

You have a very similar GPA to mines back when I applied, and I got in. Good luck :)

It’s impossible to have a 4.38 UC uncapped GPA when you have a 3.78 UW gpa.

lol meteman. i want to meet u.

i got 6 B’s when i was a freshmen…its pretty possible

Definitely not. I have a 3.72 UW GPA and a 4.71 UC uncapped GPA (with 6 honors and 6 AP Classes in sophomore + junior year…unless I did my calculations wrong, of course).

True unless the 8 AP/honors/CC extra points limit is lifted.

@WongTongTong
You did do the calculations wrong, you did not account for the 2 weighted points per semester cap. You reall have a 4.12 UC GPA

Freshman grades don’t count.

I thought we were talking about uncapped? And yes, meteman is correct (since only APs are weighted for OOS students, I have a 4.12 with the 8 semester cap thingy).

honors dont count for oos btw from what i read…UC gpas dont count freshmen year but uw gpa is cumulative

my bad wongtong didnt see ur comment above
