im taking ap english, ap calc, ap econ, and ap bio but people are telling me having a free period is bad for colleges? is this true?

I think it depends. I would say no… because I’m taking four APs, a college course, band, and a free period.

I know plenty of people with a study hall every year who got into good schools.

But if you’re trying to get into any ivy-league… it could hurt you. Even so, you’re taking a really rigorous load and if you need a free period, then take it.

Obviously no free period will look better than having one. That doesn’t mean you can’t have one, but if you’re trying to do everything you can, you might want to put another class in there.

If you have another class you’re interested in taking, now’s your chance to take it?!

At my school, most people take a study hall. It raises your GPA because your GPA is out of one less class, and you can still get more than enough credits for graduation, at least at my school that’s how it works.
