I am freshman and taking
Pre calculus HN
English 9
World history 1 HN
Biology HN
PE
Spanish 1
Beginning orchestra
I can finish the classes with straight As except the history ( A- probably , I got C this quarter no…)
I am willing to take
AP BC calculus
AP World history
AP Physics C
AP chemistry
English 10 HN
Spainish 2
String ensemble ( mid orchestra)
and I am pretty bad at English.
Do you think it’s possible to afford these class ?
I’d be cautious about taking so many AP courses as a sophomore.
Are you sure that your school will let you take that many AP courses next year? A lot of schools have grade level restrictions on the amount of AP classes you can take and most courses have a lot of prerequisites.
Are you going to take chemistry and physics over the summer to place into those AP courses?
I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to take so many advanced courses next year, you would be moving from 3 honors classes to 4 AP classes and 1 honors class. That is a very big jump.
AP Chem and AP Physics C together is an issue for many students due to the lab time requirements. Plus AP Physics C is a seriously time consuming course.
Um… My school doesn’t have the grade level restriction but there are course requirements like… physics must be taken after chem.
I am taking PE and chemistry over the summer. I heard that If I am taking BC calc, I can take Ap physics C without any Physics class.
“Do you think it’s possible to afford these class ?”
I think you are going to have difficulty in the more advanced English classes. I’m also not sure why you think you are going to get an A in history when you currently have a C, or why you would plan to take AP World history with a C in the prior course (would your school even allow that?).
With respect to the other classes, what is the rush? Do you need to take chemistry over the summer? Won’t that be a regular level course instead of honors and is that going to be appropriate for you? It may be allowed to take Physics C without any prior physics class but is this actually a good idea? Where is all this heading, what will you do when you’ve completed your school’s science curriculum?
I think you need to step back and think about your strengths and weaknesses and what will give you a solid education instead of trying to pack the most APs into your schedule ASAP.
um… I had good grade in history . (A in first quarter)
just didn’t turn some works(It was excused but she didn’t accept my work) and It became C… lol It’s possible to finish with A.
And I really want to challenge myself , and My Science teacher said Chemistry and AP physics1 is a joke.
I still have more time to figure the classes out. so. anyway thx : )
With this schedule freshman year:
Pre calculus HN
English 9
World history 1 HN
Biology HN
PE
Spanish 1
Beginning orchestra
The logical schedule for sophomore year would be
AP Biology OR AP Physics 1 or 2
AP BC calculus => only if your school does it as Calc AB first semester, calc (B)C second semester; if your school has AB one year, BC the second year, you have to take AB first (that’ll make you 3 years ahead of the typical American student…) and BC junior year, which still leaves you 2 semesters senior year to take differential equations, discrete math, linear algebra at a local community college or university.
=> the rest works as is:
AP World history
English 10 HN
Spanish 2
String ensemble ( mid orchestra)
