4 mistakes/typos on my Yale application?!

Scrambling to meet the EA deadline for Yale last night, I never had the chance to review it. When I went back I found four minor mistakes that I had made:

Supplement Essay was single spaced, 11 Point font(Times New Roman)

I said I was looking forward to "living in close setting with people who share common interests"- forgot to put an "a" before close.
3.Mentioned the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but didn't capitalize it.

Forgot to put a period at the end of my final short answer question.

I'm really happy with what I actually wrote, but I'm worried I just made too many mistakes. Do you think they'll reject my application because of this?

If the content of your essay is really good, a few mistakes aren’t going to ruin your chances of getting it. I think you’ll be fine. Good luck. :)

I bet the number of flawless applications in an admissions cycle can probably be counted on one admission officer’s hands. Do not sweat this. Errors matter only if they are substantive, give the impression of significant sloppiness and not caring, or of illiteracy. None of your minor errors and typos fall into those categories.

can anyone tell me what the double spacing thing means? in the essays? i know its a weird question and i think i know what it means but i just want to be sure

it

means

this.

I was wondering why writing it single spaced was an issue? None of those are anything major whatsoever. I don’t understand why single spaced and 11 point font is bad, missing an a, they might not even notice. Not capitalizing something won’t be much of an issue, and a period isn’t an issue.

Relax, you are WAY over thinking things.

Double-spacing reduces the eye strain when you’re reading page after page after page of application essay. No big deal if someone forgets - but if everyone forgot it would, literally, be a headache. And by standardizing the font, you make sure you don’t get something in tiny print you can barely read. One definition of a good application is one that makes reviewing easy on the reader.

I’ll just say for you to check an old thread:clam fart.

Ah, that does make sense, M’s Mom, but it definitely won’t do anything to his chances.
