4 year college > community college > 4 year college

background: Enrolled in 4 year school right after h.s.; went there for 3 semesters(30 college credits+ 6 earned in HS) (gpa 2.08; by semester 2.9,2.2,0.8) Moved to another state, now looking to apply to community college for spring semester.

How hard would it be to transfer from the community college to a 4 year school with my situation (assuming a 3.0-3.5 gpa which is what I had in high school, possibly higher) SAT - 600M-570R-540W.

2.How much the old numbers would matter compared to newer (and hopefully better =/) numbers. 36 credits 2.08 gpa and 30-40 credits with 3.0-3.5 gpa. The target college has a 3.5 average GPA for freshmen and 86% acceptance (82% for transfers no GPA info thought). Average SAT (freshmen) is 550M-550R-540W

Transferring from a Junior college to a 4 year institution is very very doable.
Of course the later grades will matter more than the earlier ones, but to what extent? If you get slightly better grades than before it may not be recognized at all, but if you get all A’s now it may be noticed. However noticed or not, the earlier grades will bring your over all gpa down, and GPA is essentially the bottom line.
