Hello!

During a Yale college meeting at our high school, the representative talked about a science-related program at Yale that allowed students to obtain a Master's Degree and a BS degree in four years. Unfortunately I forgot what this program is called, but I know it is similar to the Vagelos Scholars Program in the Molecular Life Sciences at UPenn. Can any of you shed some light on this topic and maybe tell us the name of the program? Thanks for your help and time!

The 4-year Bachelor’s/Master’s program is available for almost all majors. Details here: [Simultaneous Award of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees | Yale College](http://yalecollege.yale.edu/content/simultaneous-award-bachelors-and-masters-degrees-0)

There is no name to this “program” as detailed above. Understand that this requires so much focus within your undergraduate schedule as to preclude much coursework outside your major besides distributional requirements. Back in my day starting in Freshman Organic, I had already been taking graduate school courses by junior year. I considered it, chose not to do it, and have never regretted that decision.
