Has anybody heard how many people in total applied for this scholarship??

i heard a ton of people did. Its gonna be stupid competitive because they are only taking 50 for the finalist weekend and ten for the scholarship. They are going to announce in Feb after National Merit Finalists are announced cause its pretty much a requirement

Man, I wish this existed last year. I don’t mean to brag, but I’m sure I would have had a very good chance. :(

We were told by GC that all finalists will be notified via phone on March 7th. The qualification list doesn’t say you have to be a NMF. They say it is preferred, just as a 1400 SAT or 32 ACT and top rank. But some schools don’t rank, not all kids take both the ACT and the SAT, and not all kids take the PSAT. Our GC believes that they are looking for extremely high achievers (inside and outside the classroom). She also stressed that this first group of kids will be ambassadors for the program. So once the group hits finalist weekend, personality, charisma and conversation skills will play a huge roll. Once this final group gets to that point, the field will be level and each individual kid will have to step up and shine.

I do have to admit that Jester West has a much nicer lobby and study lounge, but that being said, I prefer Jester West only for hanging out. I prefer East for living.
