47 days and counting

just wanted to see who else had not heard as of now. Figure i should hear any day, hopefully before jan 31st. What stats do people have who havnt gotten in? thx in advance

seems like quite a few have not heard yet.... i think they may be a little slow with all the apps they are getting, hopefully we will hear by the 31st!

i applied oct 4 and haven not heard so i beat your 47 ah

Haven't heard. 1280 SAT, 3.85W.

i applied nov 26, so you'll all probably hear before me

1990 SAT (best combined)
3.92 UW

as of 1/11 they came to a decision so i should heat in a few says
3.7 gpa
1200

165 days and waiting... lol, im hopefull tho

ilovematt, i have the same exact sats as u, let me kno what u hear

also whats ur major?

ilovematt, you're 50/50

rjiminez, safety

plaid freak, safe match

chemical engineering
honestly i think i will get in, we had some kids get in and my stats are better so im not too worried plus ive been accepted to rose-hulman institute of tech which academically is 10x better than psu soo

Rose-Hulman Tech is academically 10x better than PSU? Justify that ridicilious statement.

Your SAT is RIGHT at the median for PSU. Your GPA is just about average for PSU.

That's why I call it a match.

Yes, Rose is a far superior engineering school for sure. 10X? That would be challenging to support. There's a very wealthy guy in Spring Mills, just outside SC, who is a BIG PSU supporter. Graduated from R-H. That's one of the hidden gems of the higher ed world, for sure.

Your #s are a little low for chem eng, but if you work, you'll make it. Good luck.

Superior for engineering, I agree, but definitely not overall.

Now you're quibbling & hedging. R-H is exclusively an engineering and science school. Their humanities and social sciences are there only to support engineering and scientific studies.

Your point that ilovematt's statement is "ridiculous" is ... ridiculous. What are you talking about ... football?

Without a doubt, Rose is one of the top places in the country in each and every field of study offered. One of the potential benefits to specialization and focused resource.

a overall college experience psu is far superior, but for chemE rh is by far better. classes are smaller more personal experience 99% of profs have phd's and 99% either go to grad or have ajob 6 months after and there avg chemE strting alary is 61k, i say thats pretty darn good

Oh, I agree that in those fields, Rose-Hulman is superior, but, I thought you were saying overall (since PSU is a more well-rounded school, and would beat Rose-Hulman in business, the humanities, social sciences, etc...)

No hedging here. I thought matt was saying that on the whole, Rose-Hulman was better.

Whistle Pig, you seem to have a problem with me that extends to other threads. May I ask why?

He said RH is better academically. I concur. His comment said nothing of "overall". Of course it would "beat" PSU in huanities, bus, social studies since those programs are not even offered @ RH. What's your point?

51 days and a decision has been made. now why cant PSU be like the other schools and let me know now rather than waiting two weeks :(

i sent my application in a little before december 1st..and i still haven't heard anything other then i'm being reviewed for the past month.

thats bc you sent it in really late, most kids waited a few months

oh okay thanks
