My wife and I have been so busy with two graduations (USMA & Univ of Richmond) I haven't had time to post. I can' believe how fast these last four years have gone. ( My son would tell you the opposite. In fact he commented to me recently that he doesn't remember a time when he wasn't at West Point).
To all the new parents who have had their sons and daughters admitted to a service academy -CONGRATULATIONS. I know your children had many options and chose the path often more difficult and definitely less taken. A service academy education is a unique and challenging experience. You will find much useful information on this site (along with plebenet and parentnet), with many knowledgeable people contributing.

To the parents whose children will be entering in the next few weeks enjoy the remaining time you have with them as high school students. Their time at a service academy will change them forever. When my son went to WP I was a little leary that he would become a leader who could lead troops in combat. I have zero doubt now.

West Point has given my son so many opportunities that will be realized for many years to come. His immediate future will take him to England to study for a Masters degree at a world class university. When he returns he will be attending medical school. He will serve his country as an Army doctor. My sons future is very bright and we are very proud of him.

Good luck to all the candidates and their parents. The ride is a roller coaster that moves quickly. Enjoy
