I know there are a few kids on here with a 2400 but how many have the elusive 2400 SAT I and 3 800's on SAT II's? Everyone says that the 2400 kids aren't guaranteed Ivy League status but the 4800 is nuts! I would be willing to say that the 4800's have a VERY good shot at ivy's. You can say your "grades, EC's, recs, etc." mantra all you want but I still think a 4800 = acceptance.

I think that 2400 on SAT I is much harder than 2400 on three SAT II's. For example, asian kids can take SAT ii chinese (43% 800), SAT ii math (lots of 800s), and a science sat ii, often physics, for the last 800. I think someone said there were 9000 2400s on combined sat ii's compared to 1200 2350+s on SAT I.

Don't forget

For me I have 2370+2350=4720. Yeah, I'm close, but in no way guaranteed any Ivy acceptance, because of my grades :P.

I believe the SAT scores are important when you apply to the top universities but they are not the only thing. We know that already. What I am curious is how many people have perfect scores in both SAT1 and SAT2 and all on one sitting? And if any of them have been rejected by HYPMS?

The colleges just ignore the issue of "all on one sitting"--they don't care. Because College Board keeps score records individual by individual, it would be possible to find out the answer to that question, but you are already know that's not the only issue, and I've never seen any published data on the issue you are asking about.

I think if you got a 4800 you'd be looking really good for the top colleges...unless of course you're a hermit who didn't do anything else in hs except study.

I would rather have like a 2340 SAT 1 and 750-770 on my SAT subject tests because it looks less generic. IMO it looks more human. It says "Im smart, but I make mistakes and probably do things other than study." I'm just saying. Not hating on you 2400, 4800 peeps.

I suppose the guys who get the 2400s on the SAT I can probably get 2400 on the SAT II as well. I personally have a 2330 SAT I and a 2400 SAT II (M2,P,C), making for a combined score of 4730.

Tokenadult, thanks for the reply. The university you apply to will get to see how many times you sat for the SATs anyway. I guess if College Board or anyone else have not published anything on perfect 4800 on one sitting then it cannot be too significant. Nevertheless, I still admire how anyone can achieve such a feat.
