I am sure there were so many letters going out of Great Neck it took extra bags to carry the envelopes out thus causing a delay for some of us. ;)

My son is in 4th company as well. Boy, I sure hope we get a letter soon! It has been fun picking him out of the photos.

And a great big shout out for SUPPORTMOM. Thanks for the heads up on the photos today - I saw several of my son. Yay!

I was just stunned to get our first letter today! I wasn't counting on anything until a phone call on Sunday! He was writing at 4:45 am Sunday while on "Fire Watch" in the dorm (making sure no one messes with the Candidates). Said it's lonely because they're not allowed to talk to anyone, but the good part was he's "getting" what the indoc "games" are all about. Misses us (even his brother), misses home, can't wait to hear from us and really appreciates all our support.

I keep writing to him about all of us parents who are talking about our "Candidate Concerns" in this forum - and that there's a WHOLE bunch of us "out here" silently pulling for the whole class.

What a relief!

We're leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow, so we won't be home to get his letter! Bummer :( We'll have to have our daughter pick up mail and open if we get a letter.

I saw a picture of a candidate who had a blank sheet of paper with one line at the top (wish it had been mine). My mid is a young man of few words... I hope he he's saving them up to put in a letter !!

I think I'm starting to scare the mailman.... Although apparently there are no federal regulations against stalking a mailbox. :D

LOL ZONKER! Thanks for starting my day with a belly laugh. Keep on stalking - we fellow obsessors will bail you out!

Okay, no photos yet today AND no letter yet. This is turning into a very long day!

Wow, that was magic! I hit "Submit Reply" and Day 7 appeared on the Parents Page! I'll have to try that again tomorrow!

:D :D :D
She said 'Read it, Read it!'
I asked her if she was sure.
She said 'Yes! Yes!'

OK..... "Dear Kings Point Parent, Come to 2007 Parents Weekend...Respectfully, VAdm Stewart"

She said "Arrrrgggghhhh !".
I think my wife is going to kill me this evening!

I am also going to call the nurse up there, and ask if anything has happened to the fingers on his writing hand. I am also going to make a reservation with her for the first time I get a chance to see him -- I'm seriously thinking of cracking a few, so that at least I know he has a good reason.

Same story here Zonker....I am going to kill my daughter...same mean trick..did you two talk:)

The mail south must be running very slow.

Just wait 'til the B-splitters get back!!!!!

Ummmm. What happens when the B-splitters get back?

4th Co B-Splitters take "locked on" to a whole new level

I missed the meeting. "Locked on"? (Although I can guess).

And when is the glorious appearing of all the missing B-splitters... Rendering what our kids THOUGHT they were getting a handle on absolutely obsolete?

Will they have much time to shower their loving attention upon the new candidates before class, or does it just go up a level and stay there for the rest of the year?

Now, I've seen the pictures of all the kids... Rifle range, swimming pool, rowing, sailing. Sounds like summer camp :D

But the cadre and returning B-splitters will make it (cue spooky music). . . "The Summer Camp from Hell"

Probably don't have to wait for the B-splitters to return. My son is on A split and has been checking out the Indoc pics on line. He thinks everyone looks way too happy :) He and the other A-splitters will be going back next Sunday so . . .

That is always the worry each year with the candidates. "If it's this bad now, what is it going to be like when the upperclassmen get back?" (shudder).

The upperclassmen get back, the seniors are very casual and laid back. The others are busy finishing off sea projects, and getting into the studies. Even the dreaded DI's settle down because they get busy on their classes and don't have time for the candidates as intensely.

The whole first year is more formal, but not as hard as indoc. In fact, we have found that they begin to really enjoy themselves. So tell your sons and daughters, the rumors are just that, rumors. Occasionally you have an upperclassman with a little bit of an ego coming back from sea, wanting to put the candidates down, but they are in the minority.

Studies take over around KP.

B-Spliter fear? LOL Yeah, right. Funny that I know one Mid who is so evil to his Plebes that it somehow cost me $$ for his..... nice-ness. Chinese & Pizza Take-out when they make him happy. I'm keeping the receipts & claiming Plebes on my income taxes next year.

We talked to our son today and asked him if he needed anything. He said he needs an ironing board. I didn't think to ask him what size. Can anyone help?

Ditto the Ironing board. What size and when should we send it? This week or wait until after indoc. Please help oh wise parents of Mids!
