I know that Weski and I previously posted this site; however, many more PICS have been added. Special thanks to Jamz for getting his PICS posted before anyone else (with a little help from our very own Scarlet :) )

So are you guys merchants, or marines, or what? Cause I'm kinda confused.

THE MISSION OF THE UNITED STATES MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY

"To educate and graduate professional officers and leaders of honor and integrity, who are dedicated to serving the economic and defense interests of the United States in our Armed Forces and Merchant Marine, and who will contribute to an intermodal transportation system that effectively ties America together."

Graduates are Naval Reserve Officers or Active duty in any branch of the US Military

JM..finally found a few PICS with my son ...LOL

jkbcman, if you don't understand the mission...

We are naval reservists while at the academy and afterwards you can either go active in any service branch or be a "merchant marine" aka "be a sailor on those HUGE container ships/tankers/etc."

PM- is your son the one with all the mud on his face??? ;)

congratulations! it is a wonderful accomplishment!

I'm claiming each & every one of them as my very own cause I'm Jamzmom & I can. So proud of these kids! Navy2010, you're just silly. LOL

Congrats Davy, FlyNavy, Leadin', USMMA09 & my little buddy across the hall from where Mr. DDR lives. Hope I didn't miss any of them here. You guys are awesome. Probably still dirty, but awesome. Mids. Finally, some bling bling on your uniforms.

Jkb, they are the "big box boat guys" according to Taffy if that helps as well.

It is now 6:40 PM EST...more PICS are up on the above link...some really disgusting ones with mustard...

JM, I'm still laughing about your QTip comment!

Isn't it great to see HAPPY people - even if doing PT, running and covered in mud?
I suspect the only distressed folks are those doing laundry this week!

And a big thank you to the Colorado Parents Assn. for having the best website for KP families!

an explanation on the alumni page regarding 'recognition"...

"....No more squaring corners, no more PKTs (Plebe Knowledge Tests) on Sunday evening and no more Tattoos (Plebe Beats in the older vernacular). Cleaning stations, serving tables and shorter liberty hours will continue."

I guess these jobs continue until the arrival of the class of 2010!

Oh, those wacky plebes... :D

Actually, they look like they are having so much fun that these pix should be part of the recruitment literature. ;)

Whats the deal with the mustard anyway? It looks like they are bleedin' blue and gold for sure!!! And just HOW MANY pushups did they have to do that day? And the purpose of all that mud is to....... ????

Looks like they had a fun time doing all of them at least- they are all grinning ear to ear!!! And part of the recruitment literature- BRILLIANT!!!

Brunetti is a hot dog! That's the deal with the mustard!

Actually, John Brunetti is a terrific kid and a great wrestler.
