So the Chemistry Department website says that the ASE is only offered once a year, just before the start of fall semester:

MIT Chemistry: Advance Standing Exam

However, it also mentions procedures for "second semester freshmen" to take the ASE, which suggests taking the ASE during IAP (when else would a second semester freshman take an ASE?).

I was curious, does anyone on CC know if this ASE is offered during IAP?

I e-mailed the chem department (the undergraduate academic advisers) for an official response but they may not be reading their e-mails during Christmas break, and I would rather know sooner than later if the ASE is offered during IAP.

Also, any general advice on the ASE would be nice. I've already looked through other threads, and found some useful information, but more would be welcome. I know it's one of the hardest ASEs offered, so I'm prepared to study a lot during IAP (including all those topics not covered in AP Chem).

Thank You For Any Replies.
