5 midterm/final exam classes too much? (Engineering)

Is 4 technical courses (3 credits each) and a 2 credit music class (with a final exam) too hard? I'm probably not going to take one of the technicals but I want to hear opinions from others, because without it I will only have 11 credits, and maybe some research credits that are being figured out now, but for now I feel like that's a low credit count. What should I do?

What are the technicals in question? It won’t be an easy schedule, but it should be manageable unless the courses all have labs/long term projects. Since they are all 3 units, they are probably not too bad (though there are some 3 unit classes that take up a lot of time).

Music 20A doesn’t have final during the finals week. From what I remember the theory exam was during the last day of class and the singing part was during the dead week and it gave out your final grade right before the other exams started.

They’re E 28, ME 132, ME 104, and ME C85. Music 20A is my one humanities class. Only E 28 has a 3 hour lab, the rest all just have 1 hr discussion each week. So for my schedule they don’t take too much time. I also plan to work in a lab and do Cal Band as well next semester, but neither of those require much of any time outside of rehearsal/lab to do stuff so I wouldn’t count it as bogging down my schedule as much as it seems. All those classes together ends up only being 20 hours a week. And then we can include band and research and that probably adds up to a little less than 40 hrs/wk at the max, because I know it’ll vary from week to week.

You may want to see how much of ME C85 is needed for ME 104, since ME 104 lists ME C85 as a prerequisite.

Yeah I found that everywhere else besides schedule.berkeley.edu, ME C85 is not listed as a prereq for 104, so I think it should be okay. If there’s any course that I plan to drop out of the 4 technicals though it will be that one.

Both of the following say that C85 is a prerequisite for 104:

I was about to say I think I was thinking of another course that had conflicting prerequisites. So yeah I’m not taking ME 104 anymore.
