I was wondering if my senior schedule is too laid back and whether it would hurt my chances of getting into a good college.

My School:
Our school allows us to take up to 7 classes per year and offers around 15 AP's. Most students take 6 classes. It is fairly competitive with most students taking around 2-3 AP's/honors and some others taking 4-5.

AP Calc BC
AP Gov (1st sem) / AP Econ (2nd sem)
Money and Banking
Contemporary Lit
Physics

Unless you are doing something majorly big with the rest of your day, I would suggest adding something else on.

I do Cross Country and Track and Field after school. I also have an engineering internship on the weekend and volunteering on Friday.

my suggestion would be to add another course, one AP and maybe one non-AP if ya fancy

I would take something else, even if it’s not challenging. It’s senior year! take something fun that you might not get to do in college

Take physics or English as AP and maybe add something else. (have you done stats or Chem?)

What do you want to go into?
What kind of school do you want to go to?

Colleges are looking for rigor in your schedule. You have to ask yourself if that is as rigorous a schedule as you can handle. Based on what I went though with my two older sons (who both went to a 7 period day high school), I think you will find the more selective the school, the more they are going to think that you are “skating” your senior year with your proposed schedule.

Good luck with your deliberations! :)
