5 year suspension coming to an end

So you want to go back to your original university as a Ph/D. student? If you were an undergraduate when you were suspended you would apply for graduate study as a new applicant.

No I did my masters in something different. I want to go back to complete what’s incomplete. Plus I want an engineering degree

So let me see if I have this:
You were suspended from University X
You got a bachelor’s at Azusa Pacific U
You got an online Ivy master’s (HES?)
Now you want to go back to University X and get another second bachelor’s degree in engineering?

OP, you need to discuss the matter with the college involved, as said from the get go.

As for returning to the college as an UG after getting two degrees,…well, that’s up to the college too.

Yes

Because you had an attorney representing you during the time that the expected “2 year suspension” turned into a “5 year suspension” due to an additional ethical violation, I suspect that your five year “suspension” was actually negotiated terminology for an “expulsion”. And this explains why there are no terms in your notice of “suspension” for readmission.

You may get some leeway from a non-flagship state university in your state which admits 60% or more of all applicants.

Actually they changed it from an expulsion to suspension as I stated I had schizophrenia

I just called them and they said the director will get back to me. I told the assistant on the phone of the ba, ms, certifications that I’ve completed to maintain good standing. The assistant mentioned that’s it’s a positive how I’m showing so much keen interest. I told her how I’ve looked forward to this for the past 5 years

If you had an attorney represent you during the suspension hearing or process, then you might want to contact your former attorney for any suggestions or guidance.

Because it was noted that you suffered from a psychological condition or disability, you may have some legal protection under the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act). You should ask your attorney if this might apply in your situation.

I’m in contact with my attorney. Im waiting for him to get back to me. I’m also waiting for the school judicial office director to get back to me. I’m so anxious! I swear I’ve never put more of my pride into anything more than getting into engineering school. Not even my own marriage! Like it doesn’t matter if I’ve married to a lovely man if I can’t finish my engineering school. I rather just die off

So my lawyer called and he said he will look at the letter of suspension in detail. He doesn’t remember as it was 5 years ago. But basically if it doesn’t say expulsion then I can resume taking classes after the suspension. He also asked if there were any conditions listed in the letter and I said no. So I’m not sure how they can conditionally not accept me back

Since we don’t know what college you attended we really can’t advise you as to your college’s disciplinary policies and procedures.

What interests me is what did you do to get a five year suspension? Almost seems more like an expulsion, 1 or 2 years maybe but 5?

Well let’s not try to make this a hazing thread like the others ?

Anyone else who has an intellectually-based conjecture or some advice based on real life experience?

As others have said, no one here can answer your questions. You can state a million reasons why it shouldn’t be an issue, but none of us know the details or are in a position to answer your questions. You need to contact someone at the school.

Have you read the college’s student handbook or searched their website for their policies on disciplinary issues or readmission of former students? When you have questions it’s best to go directly to the source.

It sounds like you think the hold on your account will be automatically lifted and you’ll be able to register for classes. After a 5 year suspension for multiple honor code violations I think that’s an unrealistic expectation.

Hello I’m still waiting to hear back from my college. So nervous

@cptofthehouse did your friend’s son’s letter say to reapply as a potential candidate or did he have to do an interview with the juridical affairs to deem he is fit to come back? The latter sanction was stated in my second to last version but not in the latest version. The sanction also had definitive deadlines but my latest version doesn’t have the deadline, let alone any deadline. I’m so nervous

This is the wrong place to be asking these questions. It all depends on the terms of your suspension and the rules of the school. The only voice that matters is your attorney’s, but … my 5 cents: I’m not seeing any contrition or acknowledgement of responsibility here, and, if I’m your old school and I come across this thread and I recognize you, I’m not likely to look favorably on your application to be reinstated.
