What does it matter what we think or not? Most likely none of us are experts, and we’ll probably have widely different views than the admissions officers. The process of admissions is multi-tiered with more than one person looking at your admission essay, and it often matters on how the officer is feeling at the time (whether they’re at the end of a long batch, if they are hungry, how warm their coffee is, etc.)

Plus, these little chance threads don’t include some of the more important things, like teacher recommendations and essays (mainly essays). Do you need validation? Because at this point, it’s not like you’re going to be able to change much who you are. The deadline is what…in roughly two weeks? You are who you are, be happy with it.

I’m not trying to be harsh, you sound like an accomplished person. It’s just sometimes there are so many things wrong with these type of threads, that’s probably why no one is responding. If I had posted my chance thread on here when applying I would have probably been told I would most likely be rejected or deferred, that would have potentially been creating an unnecessary amount of stress when I actually did get in in reality.

I think people post these kinds of threads because they’re looking for a little perspective – be it baseless or not. Or if they have concrete questions like I did about getting suspended, for example. But yeah, no one on here can really predict anything and I’m guessing most people are aware of that and will hopefully consider input cautiously.

To sleepyz, your scores are decent, minus SAT Writing, which falls below the range, I believe. Your ECs are decent, and the fact that they have focus is great. Good luck :)

I hope you avoided cliche’s in your essay, I’m saying that because I think it might be something that’s deja vu to a lot of the admissions people.

Above all, be honest and don’t be scared to be as honest as you can stand. Be yourself, write like yourself, and cross your fingers.
