6 UC schools, 3 CSU's, 2 Private Universities

My total GPA was a 4.1-2ish. I took 6 AP classes and 5 honor classes during my four years. I got a 26 on my ACT and I got a 1700 on the SAT. I was involved in ASB for all four years, and held an elected position every year. (freshmen pres, sophomore vp, junior pres, and ASB vp). I was involved in cheerleading, badminton, and field hockey. I was also in a leadership group to help freshmen during my junior and senior years. And I was a part of Key club and CSF.

I was wondering if someone could tell me my chances of getting into the following schools, like if it is possible or not and how possible it would be. The 1 is my first choice major, and 2 was my second choice major. I also was just accepted into CSU Fullerton for computer science.

-CSU Cal Poly San Luis Obsipo (1-computer science, 2-architecture)
-UC Berkeley (architecture)
-UC Davis (1-computer science, 2-textiles and clothing)
-UCLA (1-computer science, 2- political science)
-UC San Diego (1-political science, 2-computer science)
-UC Santa Barbara (1-computer science, 2-political science)
-USC (1-Art, Technology, and Business of Innovation, 2-computer science)
-San Diego State (1-computer science, 2-marketing)
-Santa Clara University (computer science)

Your test scores are a bit low to be competitive for CS at the UC’s especially since some schools have acceptance rates of less than 10% for CS. Your GPA is solid however, but you test scores are going to impact your chances. Other than CSUF and SDSU, I really see too many Reaches and not enough target schools. Too late now, but you should have included SJSU, CSULB, Cal Poly Pomona, UC Riverside and Santa Cruz on your list and dropped some of the higher reach schools.

USC/UCLA/UCSD/SLO: Reach
SCU/UCSB/UCD: Low Reach
SDSU: High Match/Match

Since you were accepted to CSU Fullerton already, I assume this school is your safety?

Good Luck.

thank you for you help! Also, do you know if UC’s/CSU’s pay attention to the second choice of major? I realized my mistake of putting computer science as a first choice…

UC Davis, Santa Barbara and San Diego will consider alternate majors however, if CS is your preferred choice it is better to put that major as your first choice, since it is very difficult to transfer into the major later.
