UM is now 7 years instead of 6.

actually stony brook is not a 6 year program...that only have an 8 year one

and yea..there is no 5 year med school program in the US...lowest i've seen is 6 years

but for dentistry..there is 1 5 year program to b a dentist after high school...its the University of Pacific

so is that common to have a 7 year program. and if it is, can you tell me what schools that offers that? How competitive the admission process would be then for those schools

...but not all of them are in the NBA - it doesn't mean they're not great. I also know alot of great musicians who don't have record labels. My point is that the problem with admission to 6 year programs is NOT that they are SO great that nobody gets in except God. The problem is that they don't have enough seats. True, there are pro's and cons, and its not for everyone. But if you want a six year program and you're a rock-star without a label, then you may consider trying for a program in the E.U. There are great universities that are all accredited here. The US brings in thousands of grads from Europe each year - it may as well be us. For example, there's a program called SourceAmerica that's working with the State of Illinois to send students to Europe and bring them back. The State thinks its a good idea - and since US medical schools don't have funding to grow with the population, this will be the future of medical education.

I would never recommend a 6 med program. Just do a 8 year if its offered. The stress is way to high and you should enjoy your youth.

"The stress is way to high and you should enjoy your youth."

lol..ppl used to say that to kids/teens..lol...but stress at high school is really high 2...so its not that easy to "enjoy your youth" when ur swamped wit schoolwork 24/7..lol
