7 Year med programs

What schools have 7 year med programs so that you are automatically guaranteed admissions to medical school right after college.

I know BU has one

<a href="http://services.aamc.org/currdir/section3/degree2.cfm?data=yes&program=bsmd%5B/url%5D">http://services.aamc.org/currdir/section3/degree2.cfm?data=yes&program=bsmd</a></p>

the brown and rice/baylor one are most competitive i believe.

and Case Western has a program as well.

northwestern's HPME program is super selective.

Sophie Davis does, one of my friends got accepted to them, but she
s like a genius =P

I know SD's program is really hard to get into

University of Miami has one..........my cousin's husband got accepted with a 1530 SAT

Howard University (DC) has a 6-year program. If you're looking to foreign schools, the UK has a few 6-year programs such as the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (Dublin).

Brown's PLME program is actually a full 8 years if I am not mistaken, which means it is not accelerated, but the transition is smoother. It is not as competitive as I thought it would be, so definitely apply. I didn't because I thought I needed experience in research projects and hospital volunteering, but I probably could have gotten in without either.

midwest viola, did u get in? What were ur stats like?

never mind i see u said u didnt

UCSD - takes only 15 people nationwide. joint program, no MCATs.

UCSD's program is only for California students. Must have a 4.0 GPA and a 2250 on the SAT. Can only apply to the program if you're invited by UCSD (assuming you're accepted RD).

the reason, i imagine, they don't allow so many kids into 7 year med programs, because kids whose extracurricular activities have consisted of the typical high school experiance and who have no real world relateable experiance within medicine(such as actually volunteering at a hospital and doing more than just being a receptionist), may say or may be interested in pursuing it, but have no honest idea of what it entails. and so they only select students who actually have a better idea of what their job would entail, etc.
