600 in French, should I send?

Hi everyone.

In May, I took two SAT II's--Math I and French. Math I got a 680, which I was happy with; and, in french (without much studying) I got a 600. I definitely will send the 680 (because that's good, for me), but I'm not too sure about the French. I'll be mostly applying to selective but not IMPOSSIBLY selective schools (perhaps GW, American, ones of that tier). Would it be to my advantage or disadvantage to send the 600 on french? I'm not too sure I'll have enough time to take it again, so that would probably be my only french grade.

Thanks!

LOLOL. you should get least get 700s.

^ Don’t listen to the ■■■■■■ above me ^

A 600 in French is pretty good… but I don’t think that it is good enough. Really 650+ is what to shoot for at the minimum. The 680 in Math I is good… if you have time, it would be better to either retake French or take another one for the possibility of 650ish scores or higher. But if not, don’t fret because a 600 is not going to hurt you that much. Your app is much more than your scores!

isn’t 680 in math very low?

i believe that SATs below 700 are unsatisfactory

^for people on CC, yes, it is.

for normal people, no, it isn’t.

it depends where you are looking

If you’re applying to schools that require 2 SAT IIS and you think there’s another subject you could test better in, take that other subject. If you don’t have time for whatever reason to either retake French or take another SAT II, don’t worry about it. It won’t kill your application.
