<p>I recently received my scores for the Math2 and Chem SAT subject tests. I am applying to Cornell Engineering.. Should I retake? Will they throw my application out upon seeing the 650? I don't know how much better I would do if I retook and I am just hoping they won't see that and reject me. The rest of my application will be pretty solid, good essays, 34 ACT (35/34/34/31 subscores), 4.3 GPA. Do I still stand a chance? Thanks</p>
<p>If you applied ED, there’s no use in retaking the tests; Cornell won’t see them. If you’re applying RD, I suggest that you at least try to get Math II above a 700 to be taken seriously by the Engineering school.</p>

<p>With a lots of prep you should be able to raise it to 700’s. There are excellent prep books available with sample tests. If you work hard enough it can be done. Good luck to you.</p>
<p>with scores like those it would depend very much on the rest of what you have to offer in terms of where geographically you are from, what leadership skills you’ve demonstrated, what diverse background you come from etc…otherwise, yes, study and retake!</p>

<p>Have you taken any physics in school yet? If so, I would suggest trying the physics subject test next time, because even as someone who didn’t really understand physics all that well I was still able to get a pretty good score on the subject test. I don’t think they weight the subject tests all that highly, especially since your other scores are solid. Good luck!</p>
<p>I am currently taking physics and I am doing quite well in it, but I don’t think I will take the subject test since I have not fully completed the course. Also, I am applying for chemical engineering and I want to show my passion by taking chem subject tests 
I bought Barron’s Math2 Guide on eBay earlier today, I’m going to study it down to each letter and hopefully get around a 750… I am in calculus and am really good at math so I think I just need to know what to expect on the test! Cornell is my #1 choice and I want to do my best to have them take my application seriously. Hopefully if what you say is true about weighing subject tests, I can still have a decent chance if I can raise it up to a 700 at least. Thanks!</p>
