690+750+760=2200. Retake?

Here is my score breakdown. I have mixed feelings. This is the first time I took the SATs (March 2012).

I'll give you a bit of more information.

Next year-- CALC BC/PHYSICS/STAT

Colleges to consider:
I'm not sure! UChicago is ideal!
Where else should I consider?
Should I retake a 2200?
Are there any other standardized tests I should take? ACT? Another SAT II? What should I aim for on those?

Thanks!

I would recommend taking math level 2 and retaking the SAT, if you feel like you can pull it up.

Based upon what I’ve heard, the safest bet for SAT scores is to demonstrate relative proficiency in each section. For many students and admissions counselors, this seems to be above 700 or 750 (depending on whom you ask) in each section, possibly excluding writing. I would definitely retake in order to raise your CR score. It’s the score that would be a problem at the moment. A 750 in math is the result (or it was in my case) of missing two questions on a 4 hour test; if a college were to refuse you admittance for THAT, I’m not sure that’s a college you should have any interest in. Your CR score, as I said, is more worrying.

As far as SAT IIs are concerned, I would definitely take another. Math II is probably the easiest to study for, as its concepts are the ones covered most thoroughly in normal class progressions (as opposed to AP Biology being the best prep for the Bio Subject test, AP Chem for the Chem subject test, and so on), but I’d consider all your options.

In the Midwest, I’d give Washington University in St. Louis a try. Out of the Midwest, there are a lot of solid names that you could always give a thought, like RPI and RIT. Best of luck!

Aboslutely agree. Aim for at least 2300+.

I agree! You should retake it, so you won’t have any regrets. I went up every section (100 points total) the 2nd time I took the SATs, just because I knew better what I was going into.

you do need a 800 in math and a 700+ in CR. And SAT2 should all be above 760. I mean this is what those top college wants

Definitely retake, you’ll do better the 2nd time (hopefully).

Alright. Thanks guys!
