Retake a 2200?

Here is my score breakdown. I have mixed feelings. This is the first time I took the SATs (March 2012).

I'll give you a bit of more information.

03/10/2012 SAT Reasoning Test
Critical Reading 690 94%
Math 750 97%
Writing 760 99%
Multiple Choice 76(score range: 20-80)
Essay 9(score range: 2-12)

Additional info:
female, south-asian, junior in high school
looking to enter a SCIENCE field-- preferably math or physics
very passionate about science--> shows on transcript, essays, extra-curricular activities, etc

750 chem SAT II
203 PSAT
Currently in AP Chem/French/English
Next year-- CALC BC/PHYSICS/STAT

Colleges to consider:
I'm not sure! UChicago is ideal!
Where else should I consider?
Should I retake a 2200?
Are there any other standardized tests I should take? ACT? Another SAT II? What should I aim for on those?

Thanks!

@entrometric

I got the same psat score as you lol. And take the act and 1 more sat subject test. Taking those tests opens more colleges up to you.

Thanks for the info-- But don’t retake the SAT?

entrometric,
My son, also a junior, got similar scores: 760 crit. reading, 750 math, 650 writing (ouch). I am inclined to (lightly) discourage a retake. Rather I will encourage him to focus on current coursework, upcoming AP and IB exams, the extracurriculars that he is dedicated to, and his essays. He hasn’t taken any SAT subject tests but he would do well on the chem test so that’s a possibility.

Chicago is a great institution but your scores should make you attractive to lots of schools. You have to decide what you are attracted to (big or small, urban or rural, close or far, …) and go for it. Are you in IL? UofI is a world class university. All those “Universities of” around Lake Michigan ( WI, IL, MI) impress me. But so do lots of small schools too. What about Washington U in St. Louis (WUSTL)? Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology?

My son will major in computer science. Cost is a big consideration for us. We reside in CA and Cal Poly SLO is high on our list. He’ll probably also apply at Harvey Mudd, Stanford, Rice, WUSTL, CMU, Cornell, Dartmouth, Carleton, Williams, …

Good luck in your search. I hope others will join this discussion and offer insight into the journey entrometric and I/we are undertaking. btw, love your username.

Thank you, @jeffgordon, for the compliment (entrometric)!

I am not in IL but I have relatives there and Chicago is my favorite city in the US. I am actually in the tristate area (NY NJ PA).
